Why is an inside-inside swing path so important? Walk up and down the driving range at any PGA Tour event, and you'll notice two key and fundamentals that all pro golfers practice:

Inside-inside swing paths provide the most efficient and powerful golf swing. Here's why: When you swing on an inside-inside swing path, your club follows a circular path relative to the swing arc. To visualize this, place a hula hoop on the angle of your swing arc and you'll notice that it forms an inside-inside path viewed from eye level.

Perfect backswing and follow through

If you were to attach a laser pointer to the bottom of your golfclub and swing slowly on an inside-inside path, you would notice the club following an inside-inside path from backswing to impact and into your follow through. The laser would create a perfectly straight line, pointing directly behind and through to the target.

Inside-inside swing paths create consistent ball contact. You're far more likely to make solid contact by staying connected throughout the swing and swinging on an inside-inside path than if you were to swing inside-outside or outside-inside and lose connectivity.
